Ring in spring this weekend, at one of Calgary’s family friendly Easter events. The long weekend is jam packed with hunts, games, and of course, chocolate. Here’s just a small sampling of the local happenings. Try to hop your way to all three!
Telus Spark’s Spring Sparktacular is the event of the long weekend for any curious children. Want to learn about seed starting or composting basics? Better yet, find out what happens when you eat all those chocolate bunnies. What else can you expect at Sparktacular? Dinosaur eggs, chocolate galore, and egg-themed science experiments!
Educational and entertaining, the science centre’s Easter long weekend events are included in the price of general admission. To top it off, they’ve even extended their hours for April 3 and 4.
Easter bunnies take on a whole new meaning at the Calgary Zoo this weekend, where you can learn to do your own bunny hop, and jump from exhibit to exhibit. You may even stumble upon the Bunnysaurus! Cococo Chocolatiers is sponsoring the event, adding a treat to each child’s basket.
Activities for this event are also included in the price of admission, so why not make a day of it! Enjoy the Easter festivities from 9am to 3pm on April 3 and 4.
One of our favourite communities, Kensington is always a bustling hub of activity! This weekend it’s taking on a pastel-coloured, egg-shaped Easter theme. Bucci will get your egg hunt started, with hints and a basket. Along the way, stop to pet the bunnies and goats at the Butterfield Acres petting zoo, get your picture taken with the Lego Mascot and get comfy for an afternoon screening of the movie.
Easter in Kensington takes place Sunday, April 5 from noon till 5. Make sure to follow the fun with #EasterInKensington and #FindTheBunny.
